Description

Colour is the oldest form of devotion in Rajasthani jewellery, and these bangles carry that truth on their surface. Rooted in the Jaipur tradition of meenakari, each bangle is worked in brass and filled with fired enamel in your choice of a deep garden green or a ceremonial red, colours the karigars of the Pink City have been grinding and burnishing for generations. Polki stones, set in the characteristically uncut, foil-backed manner, catch light across the face of the bangle with an antique warmth that no faceted stone can replicate. A border of pearls traces the upper and lower rims, softening the geometry and lending the piece a femininity that is wholly in keeping with the bridal and festive vocabulary these two crafts have always shared. The openable hinge at the side is a quiet act of engineering, allowing the bangle to fit without force. Wear the green pair with a Benarasi tissue sari in ivory or gold for a Dussehra evening, and let the enamel speak against the weave. The red pair pairs with ease alongside a deep burgundy lehenga or a handloom cotton kurta for a daytime puja or roka ceremony. Each bangle measures 0.80 inches (approximately 2 cm) in height with an inner diameter of 2 inches (approximately 5 cm), and the pair weighs 102 grams in total. The openable clasp makes daily wear and removal straightforward, and the brass base ensures the piece holds its shape across seasons.
