Description

The lotus, India's most enduring emblem of grace, here finds its form in cool Kundan fire. Worked in brass and set with the flat-foiled precision that defines the Kundan tradition, this openable bangle traces its central motif in a full-bloom lotus, each petal outlined in polished gold-toned metal and inlaid with closely packed, glass-set stones that catch light the way still water does at noon. Suspended from the lower edge, a fringe of green beaded drops moves with the wrist, their colour carrying the suggestion of uncut emerald without pretence. The setting is consistent with the Rajasthani school, where Jaipur craftsmen have long excelled at marrying bold floral geometry with delicate surface work. At eighty-two grams, this is a bangle with genuine presence, weighted and deliberate in the hand. Wear it at a mehendi or sangeet over a silk lehenga in ivory or deep gold, where the green drops anchor the palette beautifully. For diaspora weddings abroad, it pairs just as well with a tissue-weave saree and bare arms, letting the single cuff read as a statement of intention rather than abundance. The hinged openable construction means no anxious stretching over the knuckle; it closes firmly and sits flush at a standard bangle size two-and-a-half, written here as 2/6. The brass base keeps the piece light enough for a full wedding day. The Kundan surface, though set in glass rather than precious stone, rewards careful storage in its pouch between wearings.
