Description

There are bangles made to be worn, and then there are bangles made to be remembered. Kundan work is among the oldest inlay traditions in India, its roots wound through the workshops of Jaipur and the royal ateliers that once dressed queens for their durbar appearances. In this bangle, a copper base carries that lineage forward. Each stone is set in the classical Kundan manner: a foil-backed gem pressed into a gold-toned bezel of refined metal, held without prongs, the setting itself becoming the ornament. The pink colourway draws on a palette long associated with Rajasthani festivity, where colour is never incidental but always intentional. The openable hinge closure is a practical grace note borrowed from fine bridal jewellery, allowing the bangle to be fastened rather than forced, protecting both the setting and the wearer. At 104 grams for the pair, the weight is bridal in the most honest sense: present on the wrist, worn with ceremony. These bangles find their fullest expression against the ivory border of a Banarasi lehenga at a wedding, or layered over the cuffs of a raw-silk kurta at a sangeet where the light catches the Kundan stones at every movement. The pink reads warmly under both artificial and natural light. The single offered size, 2.4 inches in diameter, accommodates a standard wrist comfortably. The openable mechanism means no struggle at the clasp, and the copper core keeps the bangles sturdy through a long day of celebration.
