Description

There is a particular stillness to a flower caught mid-bloom, and these bangles hold exactly that. Each bangle in this pair is worked in the Kundan tradition, a discipline rooted in Rajasthan and refined over centuries in the ateliers of Jaipur, where flat-foiled stones are pressed into a molten lac bed and secured by fine metal borders to create that characteristic luminous flush. Here, the motif is floral, petals radiating outward in a repeated pattern across the bangle's face, the brass base lending warmth without the weight of heavier metals. Kundan's genius lies in the way stone and setting become a single surface: no prong interrupts the eye, no gap breaks the bloom. The openable hinge closure makes these bangles a quiet act of modern consideration grafted onto an entirely classical form. Each pair weighs a substantial fifty grams, a reassurance of presence on the wrist. For a cotton silk saree at a daytime mehendi, these sit precisely right, neither competing with embroidery nor disappearing against it. Worn with a Benarasi or a chanderi kurta at a festive evening gathering, they read as heirloom without effort. Available in sizes 2.2 and 2.4, the hinged opening means sizing is generous and the fit accommodating for most wrist widths. Brass requires only an occasional gentle wipe to maintain its warmth, and the Kundan inlay, protected by its metal surround, remains secure across seasons of regular wear.
