Description

There is a particular kind of confidence that comes from wearing something made by hand, one wrist at a time. Kundan is among the oldest setting traditions in Indian jewellery, perfecting the art of pressing uncut, foiled glass or gemstone into a bed of lac, then framing each piece with fine gold-toned foil to create that characteristic glowing border. Here, on a broad brass cuff, the technique is rendered with an unhurried deliberateness: individual Kundan-set stones are arranged across the face of the bangle in a repeat motif, catching light with every movement of the hand. Brass gives the pair its satisfying weight, a combined 100 grams that settles on the wrist with the quiet authority of something substantial. The warm, antique-burnished tone of the metal grounds the set stones without competing with them, a balance the Jaipur tradition of Kundan work has long understood. Worn together as a pair, these cuffs translate across occasions with ease. Set them against the broad sleeve of an ivory chanderi kurta for a weekday lunch, or let them carry a plain silk blouse at a festive evening gathering where statement jewellery does the talking. The interior diameter is sized at 2.2, suited to a standard Indian wrist. The brass construction keeps the bangles lighter than gold-base alternatives while remaining durable for regular wear. No clasp interrupts the clean profile; each cuff slips on directly.
