Description

There is something quietly ceremonial about a bangle that carries light within its surface rather than merely reflecting it. This Kundan bangle is worked in brass, a base chosen not as compromise but as tradition, the same warm-toned metal that generations of Jaipur karigars have used beneath lac fills and foiled stones. Kundan setting, the art of pressing refined gold foil around uncut gems or glass stones to secure them without prong or claw, gives each piece its characteristic flush, glowing face. Here, the technique is applied across a broad cuff form, with flat-set stones arranged in a continuous pattern around the full circumference. The surface carries the characteristic opaque luminosity that separates true Kundan work from machine-set costume jewellery: no light leaks beneath the stones; each one sits sealed and sovereign. At one hundred grams, this bangle has reassuring presence on the wrist. It wears beautifully with an ivory chanderi kurta for a festive lunch or stacked lightly over silk sleeves for a wedding sangeet. On a plain white cotton kurta, the brass-warm tones speak for themselves without the support of further ornament. Available in wrist sizes 2.2 and 2.4, with size measured as the inner diameter in inches. The brass base keeps the piece durable through regular wear, resistant to denting under everyday conditions. A soft, dry cloth is all it requires to maintain its finish between outings.
