Description

There are bangles that make a quiet entrance, and there are bangles that carry the weight of a whole craft tradition on their wrist. This Kundan bangle works within a language that Jaipur's goldsmiths have spoken for centuries: lac-filled metal forms set with flat, foiled glass stones pressed into open bezels by hand, each piece of Kundan held in place by refined gold foil margins. Here, that conversation unfolds in brass, a metal long favoured for its warmth, its malleability and its willingness to receive fine surface work without protest. The bangle's interior is likely lac-filled to give the outer shell structural integrity, a technique that allows the karigar to apply each stone with precision. The result is a piece that sits with ceremonial confidence, its flat-set Kundan catching light in the measured way that polished glass and bright metal always do. Weighing 90 grams and finished in a single size of 2.4, it carries the satisfying solidity of considered craft. Wear this bangle stacked against silk at a mehendi or a sangeet, where its Kundan face reads beautifully against embroidered fabric. It is equally persuasive alongside a silk-cotton handloom kurta for a cultural evening, where restraint and heritage sit comfortably together. At a diameter of 2.4, this fits a standard Indian wrist without clasp or closure, slipping on as all traditional bangles should. The brass base keeps the weight honest and the piece eminently wearable across long occasions without discomfort.
