Description

There is something quietly arresting about the way tanzanite refuses to settle on a single colour. This interwoven necklace is built around the particular magic of tanzanite, a stone whose violet-blue shifts with the light, deepening from periwinkle to near-indigo depending on the hour. The setting is sterling silver, worked into an interlaced silhouette where links and stone-bearing sections alternate in a rhythm that feels both architectural and organic. The chain itself is fine and golden-toned, a deliberate counterpoint to the cool silver of the setting, lending warmth to what might otherwise read as austere. The tanzanite stones sit in open-backed mounts, allowing light to travel through them freely. At 7.6 grams, the piece carries just enough weight to remind you it is there, without ever feeling like a burden across the collarbone. The overall length is 9.5 inches (approximately 24 centimetres), sized for a close, collarbone-grazing wear. Pair it with an ivory silk kurta for a winter wedding reception, where the violet of the stones will catch candlelight beautifully. It works equally well against a slate or charcoal crepe blouse for an evening out, when understatement is the whole point. The necklace is offered in free size, the 9.5-inch (24-centimetre) length sitting neatly on most necklines without adjustment. Sterling silver requires occasional gentle polishing to maintain its brightness, but wears gracefully with daily care and rewards attention.
