Description

There are ears that listen, and ears that speak. An ear chain is one of the oldest forms of adornment in the subcontinent, threading a quiet line between lobe and helix, cartilage and cheekbone, as though the jewel itself wishes to trace the architecture of the face. This piece, crafted in brass with the warm, honey-toned finish that the metal holds so beautifully when worked by hand, follows that ancient logic. The chain links are finely articulated, moving with the wearer rather than against her, and the brass carries an antique lustre that recalls the workshop traditions of Rajasthan and Bengal, where base metals were never considered lesser metals, only more democratic ones. The piece is offered in a single, free-size format, designed to span the ear naturally across a range of ear proportions without adjustment. Worn with an ivory cotton kurta and small Meenakari studs, it brings ceremony to an otherwise understated ensemble. For a festive evening, pair it with a silk tissue dupatta and a deeper set of Kundan drops to let the chain serve as the connective thread between ornaments. At Rs 3,495, this is an entry into considered jewellery rather than costume. The brass is durable, resistant to daily movement, and requires only a soft cloth to maintain its glow. Free size means no alteration, no waiting, no measuring. It arrives ready to wear.
