Always put jewellery on last and take it off first. Keep away from perfume, water, and sweat. Wipe with a soft dry cloth after wear and store in the pouch or box provided, away from direct sunlight and humidity.
Description
There is a particular joy that lives in the wrist, small and musical, that only a ghungroo bangle understands. Sambalpuri weaving is among Odisha's most fiercely protected textile traditions, born in the looms of Sambalpur and Bargarh where weavers map the universe onto cotton and silk through ikat resist-dyeing. Here, that handloom fabric, richly patterned in the characteristic geometric and floral motifs of the Sambalpuri idiom, is wrapped and stretched over a bangle form with patience and precision, then finished with tiny ghungroos, the same brass bells that adorn classical dance costumes and temple garlands. The ghungroos are set in a neat row along the outer edge, approximately 2.75 cm across at their widest, lending the bangle both ornament and a soft, intimate sound. The inner diameter of 5.08 cm (2 inches) and a slim height of 0.89 cm (0.35 inches) keep the profile neat. At 21.5 grams for the pair, the weight is present but gentle. Wear this pair with a Sambalpuri or Maheshwari cotton sari on an afternoon that deserves ceremony, or let them sit alongside silver oxidised pieces against a linen kurta for a gathering where craft, not spectacle, is the point. The fabric texture and the ghungroos together do the talking. The plastic base ensures the bangle holds its circular form through daily wear and humidity, while the woven fabric covering ages with warmth rather than wear. Sold as a pair, they are sized for a standard adult wrist.
