Description
There are gardens that exist only in the hands of a craftsman, and this is one of them. Rooted in the Rajasthani tradition of combining Kundan stone-setting with Meenakari enamel work, this pair of openable kada bangles layers two ancient crafts into a single, confident statement. The copper base, weighing approximately 102 grams for the set, is worked in the style that Jaipur's ateliers have long perfected: a broad, flat-faced bangle dressed in vitreous green enamel, its surface interrupted by Kundan-set stones arranged in repeating floral and geometric formations. The green here is not a seasonal choice but a classical one, the colour most associated with the finest Meenakari work, where powdered glass is fired into recessed channels to create a finish that holds its richness for decades. The openable hinge closure, discreet and flush, allows the kada to sit like a solid cuff once fastened. Worn together as a pair, these bangles anchor a deep-red Banarasi silk sari or a hand-embroidered phulkari dupatta with equal authority. For daywear, pair them against the cream sleeve of a chanderi kurta and let the green carry the entire colour story of the look. Available in sizes 2.4, 2.6 and 2.8 (corresponding to Indian wrist measurements 2/4, 2/6 and 2/8), the hinged opening makes wearing straightforward even on less flexible wrists. The copper construction keeps the weight honest and the price, at Rs 1,957 for the pair, exceptional for this level of surface craft.
