Description

There is a particular green that belongs to old Rajasthan, the green of uncut stone caught in afternoon light, and these bangles hold it faithfully. Polki work at its most democratic trades the goldsmith's sheet for brass, yet loses none of its characteristic drama. Here, flat-cut stones in a deep bottle green are set alongside white Polki in the manner practised across Jaipur's narrower galis, where karigar families have long understood that colour, not metal, carries the weight of a piece. The stones sit in open collet settings, allowing light to pass through from beneath, a technique that gives Polki its distinctive luminosity. The brass base wears a warm finish that reads, at a distance, as antique gold, grounding the brightness of the stones without competing with them. Each bangle weighs approximately 67 grams across the pair and opens on a hinged clasp, so the fit is precise rather than approximate. Available in sizes 2.2 and 2.4. Wear them with a silk kurta in ivory or undyed cotton for an afternoon occasion where you want colour to speak quietly. For evening, they sit beautifully against the border of a Benarasi or Kanjeevaram, where the green picks up a complementary weft thread almost instinctively. The hinged openable closure makes these bangles genuinely practical for daily wear, no forcing over the knuckle, no resizing required. At 67 grams, they carry presence on the wrist without heaviness. Both sizes correspond to standard Indian bangle measurements: 2.2 and 2.4.
