Description

There is a particular kind of light that polki holds: not a flash, but a slow, interior glow. These openable bangles are set in gold-toned brass, their broad curved forms catching the eye through rows of uncut polki stones arranged in the unhurried, close-set manner that recalls the ateliers of Jaipur, where this style of stone-bedding has been practised for generations. Polki, in its truest spirit, is unprocessed diamond or its simulant kept close to its raw state, valued precisely because it does not perform. Here, each stone is foil-backed and table-set, held within a beaded brass surround that frames rather than overwhelms. The gold tone finish on the brass base is warm and matte-adjacent, avoiding the harsh shine of plated costume work and lending the pair a quietly antique character. Together, the two bangles weigh approximately 80 grams, a presence felt on the wrist without being cumbersome. Wear them over the cuff of a silk kurta for a winter wedding function, where the matte gold reads as intentional restraint against embroidered dupatta borders. Equally, they settle well against a plain cotton saree at an intimate family celebration, letting the polki do its quiet work. The openable hinge closure allows easy wear across wrist sizes 2.2 and 2.4 without the usual struggle of rigid bangles. Brass holds its form well and resists bending; kept away from water and perfume, this pair rewards patient care with lasting structure.
