Description

There is a geometry to old desire, and these bangles know it by heart. Polki jewellery draws its grammar from the Mughal ateliers of Rajasthan, where uncut stones were set flat against gold-toned surfaces to catch light without artifice. This pair works within that language and reinterprets it for a cleaner, more architectural hand. Each bangle is crafted in brass with a warm, antique-toned finish, its broad cuff face arranged in a repeating geometric pattern punctuated by baguette-cut stone settings that sit in precise, close-mounted collets. The baguette stones, elongated and faceted in the manner of Art Deco lapidary tradition, give the surface a restrained shimmer rather than theatrical flash. The openable hinge closure, a detail borrowed from fine Jadau kara construction, allows easy wear without compromising the continuity of the design. Each bangle stands 0.75 inches (approximately 1.9 cm) in height, with an inner diameter of 2.05 inches (approximately 5.2 cm), and the pair together weighs a substantial 90 grams. Worn with an ivory chanderi kurta and block-printed dupatta, these bangles become the single considered gesture the outfit needs. Equally, they hold their composure against a structured, embroidered velvet blouse for a festive evening gathering. The hinged opening mechanism ensures a secure fit at the standard inner diameter, making them practical for daily intelligent dressing. The brass construction keeps the weight honest and the finish durable across seasons.
