Description

There are flowers that bloom once in a lifetime, and then there are those set in uncut stone, made to last several. This wide cuff bangle draws from the Polki tradition long associated with the ateliers of Jaipur, where uncut, foil-backed stones are pressed into settings with the same deliberateness that a gardener tends a formal garden. Here, the floral motifs radiate outward from a pear-shaped centre stone, each petal outlined by smaller Polki stones arranged in close, considered formation. The brass base, worked to receive this surface ornamentation, carries a warmth that complements both the stones and the skin. At 43 grams, the bangle has the satisfying weight of something made with intention, not haste. The openable hinge at the side allows the cuff to be worn and removed without compromise to its rigid, sculptural silhouette. For a winter wedding, pair it over a silk tissue dupatta sleeve in ivory or deep red, letting the uncut stones catch candlelight. For a quieter occasion, it reads equally well against a handwoven cotton kurta in indigo or saffron, its opulence somehow becoming more intimate in that context. The inner diameter measures 1.2 inches (approximately 3 cm) and the bangle stands 1.8 inches (approximately 4.6 cm) wide, making it a statement piece that sits high on the wrist without restricting movement. The openable closure ensures a consistent, secure fit across wrist sizes, and the brass construction keeps the piece lightweight enough for extended wear.
