Description
There are gardens that bloom only on the wrist. This pair of openable kada bangles is worked in copper, a metal long favoured in Rajasthani craft workshops for the warmth it lends to colour. The surface carries a floral meenakari vocabulary: petalled blooms rendered in multicolour stones set into the broad, flat face of each bangle, their hues recalling the vivid enamel palette that meenakari artisans in Jaipur and Bikaner have refined across generations. The openable hinge construction, a practical inheritance from traditional kara jewellery, means the floral pattern wraps the wrist without interruption, presenting a continuous garden rather than a broken arc. Each bangle sits generously wide, the copper base giving the multicolour stone work a burnished, slightly antique ground. The pair weighs approximately 98 grams together, a presence that is felt without being burdensome. Worn with a cotton or silk kurta in ivory or saffron, the bangles' colour play reads as celebratory and considered in equal measure. For a wedding guest attending a mehendi or a sangeet, they pair naturally with a printed chanderi dupatta and unadorned ears, letting the wrist carry the occasion. Available in sizes 2.4, 2.6 and 2.8, the openable clasp allows easy dressing without the need for a second pair of hands. Copper acquires a gentle patina with time; a soft cloth after wear preserves the stone settings and keeps the surface bright.
