Description

There is a generosity to brass that gold sometimes forgets: it carries warmth without apology. These Rajwadi openable kada bangles arrive as a pair, each broad cuff shaped in the spirit of the royal ateliers of Rajasthan, where the word "rajwadi" still conjures durban halls and the weight of ceremony. The floral motifs pressed and worked across the surface draw from a vocabulary shared by Jaipur's meenakari tradition and the relief work seen on old haveli jewellery from Shekhawati, where botanical forms bloom in repeating symmetry across metal. Brass, chosen here for its rich amber resonance and its long history as a base for statement adornment across Rajputana, gives the bangles a satisfying heft. The pair weighs ninety-eight grams together, and is sized at 2.4, with the openable hinge closure allowing a clean fit without the anxiety of forcing rigid metal over the wrist. For a Rajasthani-themed festive evening, pair these over a georgette lehenga in ivory or deep ochre, letting the brass read as an intentional material choice rather than an afterthought. They sit equally well against the sleeve of a raw silk kurta for a mehndi afternoon, anchoring a lighter look with considered weight. The hinged opening makes daily wear genuinely practical. The surface finish holds its warmth with minimal care, and the broad silhouette ensures the cuff sits flat without digging into the inner wrist.
