Description
Devotion rendered in colour, worn at the wrist. The lotus has always been Lakshmi's own flower, and here it blooms across a pair of broad bangles in the vocabulary of temple jewellery, the tradition that once adorned deity figures in the sanctums of South India and the ateliers of Rajasthan alike. Each bangle carries a central Lakshmi motif framed by petalled lotus forms, the surface alive with meenakari enamel fired into the recesses of the brass base. The antique gold finish, achieved through careful oxidation rather than bright plating, gives the piece the warmth of something inherited rather than newly purchased. Available in blue, green, pink, and a combined pink-and-green colourway, each palette shifts the mood while the underlying devotional grammar remains constant. Brass, long favoured for temple ornaments for its resonance and workability, carries the enamel beautifully, allowing the colour to sit deep and saturated against the burnished ground. Worn together as a set, these bangles sit well against a handwoven cotton or silk saree at a puja, a festive lunch, or a mehendi ceremony. They pair equally well with a block-printed kurta when you want a single considered accent at the wrist rather than a full stack. Each bangle measures 2 inches (approximately 5 cm) inner diameter and 2.5 inches (approximately 6.4 cm) outer diameter, with a height of 0.5 inch (approximately 1.3 cm), a silhouette slim enough for everyday wear yet substantial enough to be noticed.
