Description

Colour is the oldest language flowers speak. Coiling across the surface of sterling silver in unhurried loops, the floral vine motif on these bangles is the work of Meenakari, the ancient enamel-painting tradition that has lived longest in the workshops of Jaipur and Bikaner. Here, powdered glass pigments are fired into delicate recesses in the silver, building petals and tendrils in colours that hold their intensity across decades. Sterling silver, with its cool, bright ground, gives the enamel a clarity that gold cannot quite replicate; the vitreous surface catches light differently from every angle, so the flowers seem almost to shift as the wrist moves. At 56.6 grams for the pair, the bangles carry genuine presence without heaviness, and the swirl silhouette keeps the profile fluid and continuous, without any interruption of clasp or hinge. Worn together on one wrist, they read as an heirloom statement against a silk chanderi kurta or an ivory Banarasi blouse at a festive gathering. For daytime, they sit beautifully alongside simple cotton separates, letting the enamel do the talking without competing with embroidery or embellishment. The inner diameter is 2 inches (approximately 5 cm), a standard fit for most wrists. Sterling silver does develop a gentle patina over time; occasional polishing with a soft cloth restores the original brightness. The enamel inlay, once fired, is robust and well-suited to regular wear provided the surface is kept dry after washing.
