Description

There are bangles you slip on, and then there are bangles you open like a small, considered secret. Rooted in the Kundan tradition that flourished in the workshops of Jaipur, these openable bangles carry the quiet confidence of a craft that has never needed to shout. Each piece is set in brass, worked and polished until it takes on the warmth of a courtly heirloom, and then studded with flat-foiled Kundan stones whose coloured glass centres are pressed into gold-toned bezel settings by hand. The openable hinge closure, a practical inheritance from Mughal-era bazubands, means the bangle sits flush against the wrist without the wrestle of a rigid kara. Available in two considered colourways, a garden-deep green and a petal-soft pink, each weighing fifty grams and offered in sizes 2.4 and 2.6 to accommodate different wrist circumferences. Wear a matched pair of the green on each wrist with an ivory chanderi kurta for a morning wedding function; let a single pink bangle catch the light against a deep burgundy silk sari at an evening mehendi. The Kundan stones, depending on the colourway chosen, become either grounding or luminous against festive textiles. At fifty grams, the bangle has genuine presence without fatigue. The hinged closure opens and shuts cleanly, making it as suited to a woman who dresses in a hurry as to one who dresses with great deliberateness. Both sizes, 2.4 and 2.6, follow standard Indian bangle measurements.
