Description

There are bangles you slip on, and there are bangles that announce you before you speak. This set of four draws on the Kundan tradition as it travelled from the ateliers of Rajasthan into the hands of craftsmen who learned to democratise its grandeur without surrendering its soul. Each bangle is set in brass with a lattice of foil-backed Kundan stones, the American diamonds placed in their settings with the same methodical care the craft demands: stone by stone, pressed into wax, finished with gold-toned foil to catch and hold the light. The silhouette is broad and flat-faced, the surface dense with close-set stones arranged in a repeating floral or geometric register. The two colourways, deep green and the softer, almost aqueous mint, give the set two entirely different characters while sharing a single vocabulary of faceted stones and polished brass backs. The set weighs approximately 42 grams across all four bangles, a comfortably present weight for everyday festive wear. Pair the green set over a silk chanderi kurta for a Diwali gathering; the mint works beautifully against ivory or blush georgette at a spring wedding. Stack all four together on one wrist or divide them two and two across both wrists for a more modern register. Available in sizes 2.4, 2.6 and 2.8, the bangles are rigid and require no clasp. Brass construction makes them resilient for regular wear; keep them away from moisture to preserve the foil finish.
