Description

There are bangles that clasp the wrist like a quiet declaration. This openable bangle is worked in copper and finished in gold plating, a technique that gives the surface the warm, burnished depth of aged heirloom gold without the weight of solid metal. The silhouette is architectural: a broad, structured cuff that opens at a discreet hinge, allowing it to be worn and removed without the ceremony of threading it over the hand. The motifs, relief-cast into the copper beneath, carry the vocabulary of traditional Indian ornament, scrolling foliage and geometric borders of the kind that recur across the ateliers of Rajasthan, where copper-base gold-plated work has long served as the democratic cousin of solid Kundan and Jadau jewellery. At fifty-six grams, the bangle holds its shape with satisfying solidity, the weight distributed evenly around the inner diameter of size 2.4. Wear it alone over a raw-silk kurta in ivory or saffron for a dinner where restraint is the statement. Equally, stack it against glass bangles and a printed cotton saree for a festive afternoon gathering where layering is the language. The openable clasp sits flush when closed, leaving no gap visible at the wrist. Size 2.4 suits a standard adult wrist comfortably. The gold-plated copper demands gentle handling: keep it away from water and perfume, and it will hold its lustre through many seasons of considered wear.
