Description

There is a particular kind of geometry that has always felt ceremonial in India, where the straight line bends into meaning. These openable bangles are built from brass and set with uncut Polki stones arranged across a bold geometric silhouette, each facet catching light the way old palace windows catch the afternoon. The angular form, repeated across the bangle's surface in a disciplined pattern of cuts and inlays, belongs to a sensibility long practised in Jaipur's gali workshops, where brass is worked as seriously as gold and Polki is trusted to do what diamonds have always done: hold the eye without apology. The stones sit in closed settings that press the uncut surface flush against the metal, a technique that rewards the wearer who looks closely. The overall palette follows the piece as pictured, raw mineral tones against warm brass. Worn against a silk chanderi kurta at a mehendi or an evening gathering, these bangles read as considered rather than costume. Pair them equally well with a handloom cotton sari for a Sunday lunch where the jewellery does the talking without raising its voice. Available in sizes 2.4 and 2.6, each bangle weighs 130 grams, a presence you will feel on the wrist rather than merely see. The openable hinge allows easy fastening without assistance, and brass, properly stored away from moisture, holds its warmth across many seasons of wear.
