Description

There are bridal ornaments that speak before the bride does. This ear chain belongs to a lineage of festival jewellery long practised in Rajasthan and the older bazaars of Bengal, where the connection between ear and hair was understood as a compositional choice, not a flourish. Worked in brass with a warm, gold-toned finish, the chain runs in a graceful drape from the ear fitting to a terminal pearl drop, the softness of the pearl offering deliberate contrast to the weight and structure of the links above it. Brass, when finished with care, carries the same amber warmth as gold-filled pieces at a fraction of the commitment, making it the honest material of choice for heavily layered bridal sets. The pearl drop catches light gently, lending the piece its femininity without sentimentality. At 30 grams and 6.2 inches (roughly 15.7 cm) in length, the chain has genuine presence on the face. Worn with a silk tissue lehenga for a mehendi ceremony, it reads as festive without overpowering the broader look. Paired with a cotton chanderi kurta and gold jhumkas for a sangeet, it elevates everyday dressing into something considered and personal. The free-size fitting suits most ear-lobe piercings and requires no adjustment. Brass jewellery of this weight is best stored away from moisture and direct sunlight to preserve its finish. Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth after wear.
