Description

The moment a kaleera is tied to the wrist, a wedding truly begins. Fashioned from brass and finished to catch light like polished gold, this bridal kaleera set carries the exuberant vocabulary of North Indian wedding jewellery: cascading tiers of floral and leaf forms, each surface set with colour-rich stones in closed bezels that hold them firm through hours of dancing and ceremony. The stones, embedded across pendants that swing with every movement, sit against the warm, burnished tone of the brass base. Each kalira in the set measures approximately sixteen and a half centimetres in height and just under four centimetres in width (6.5" x 1.5"), with the full set weighing a substantial one hundred and twenty grams, a presence the wrists feel without strain. The design draws on the festive bridal traditions of Rajasthan and Punjab, where kaleere are loaded with symbol and sound, gifted by loved ones and worn as a mark of joy. Tie them over the sleeves of a heavy silk lehenga in ruby or ivory for a traditional phera look, or layer them against a contemporary bridal sharara in blush and gold for a more modern mehendi aesthetic. They move, chime softly and frame the hands beautifully in every ritual photograph. Free in size and secured by adjustable ties, the set fits most wrists without alteration. Brass holds its warmth well with gentle care, and the bezel-set stones require no special maintenance, making this a piece as practical as it is celebratory.
