Description

There is a particular green that belongs only to the hour just before dusk, when the light turns liquid and the garden holds its breath. These peridot pear beads carry that exact colour: a warm, olivine-kissed green, almost translucent, cut into the classic teardrop silhouette that lapidaries have favoured for centuries because it flatters the stone's natural clarity. Each bead measures 8 x 6 mm, a size that sits with quiet confidence on the thread without overwhelming the hand that strings them. Peridot, formed in the earth's mantle and carried upward by volcanic activity, is one of the few gemstones that occurs in only one colour family, its depth shifting from pale lime to a richer bottle-green depending on the iron content within. Sold as a set of five pieces, these beads are intended for the jeweller, the bead-stringer, or the thoughtful maker who understands that fine materials deserve considered company. Set into a delicate necklace alongside gold-plated spacers, they pair beautifully with a hand-woven Chanderi kurta in ivory for a summer afternoon, or strung on silk thread for a minimalist bridal finishing layer beneath heavier Kundan work. At 8 x 6 mm each, the pear form drapes naturally and does not tug at the neckline. The faceted finish refracts light cleanly without requiring any secondary polish, making these beads as practical for everyday layering as they are for occasion dressing.
