Description

There are mornings made for ceremony, and a bride deserves to wear one from her throat to her fingertips. This six-piece bridal set arrives in the Kundan idiom of Rajasthan, where flat-foiled stones are pressed into a gold-toned brass framework and held by the pressure of fine metal borders alone, no prongs, no claws. Soft pastel beads, likely pale rose and mint and ivory, fall in graduated drops from the necklace and earrings, lending the set a watercolour quality rarely seen in heavier bridal work. The Kundan-studded panels carry the dense, courtly geometry associated with Jaipur's oldest jewellery quarters. Brass forms the structural base throughout, worked to receive the settings cleanly. The maang tikka descends to a full matha patti measuring roughly twenty-eight centimetres across the brow. The haatphool extends across the back of the hand to approximately twenty-one and a half centimetres, connecting wrist to finger in one unbroken gesture. Total set weight is three hundred and sixty-six grams. Pair the set with a heavily embroidered silk lehenga in blush or ivory for a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony. For a sangeet or mehendi, the pieces separate well: necklace, earrings and the nath alone, worn over a chikankari kurta in pale yellow. The necklace fastens on an adjustable dori, accommodating varied necklines without alteration. Earrings measure three and a half inches in height. All pieces are free size and suited to most adult wearers.
