Description
There are gardens that bloom only once, on the day of a wedding. This bridal parure draws from the vocabulary of north Indian ceremonial jewellery, where the teardrop, or naspati, form has long signalled festivity and feminine grace. Cast in brass and finished to a warm antique gold tone, each piece in the set is built around layered floral motifs, the petals radiating outward from a central boss in the manner of work long associated with Jaipur's brides. Delicate green bead drops hang from the choker and pendant, introducing a cool, botanical note against the gilded surface. The set comprises a close-fitting choker measuring approximately 8.4 cm by 16 cm, a long necklace of 66.8 cm that falls to the sternum and below, a teardrop pendant of roughly 7.6 cm by 6.9 cm, a nose ring measuring 2.5 cm across with a 19 cm drop chain, and a maang tikka of about 11.9 cm by 4.3 cm. Together, they compose a full bridal frame. For a deep red or ivory silk lehenga at a winter wedding, or for a heavily embroidered anarkali at a sangeet, the layered length of this set fills the neckline with the density a ceremonial occasion demands. Brass construction keeps the set manageable in weight across a long day of celebrations. All pieces are free size, with the maang tikka and nath chain adjustable at home. The antique finish is best stored away from moisture.
