Description

There are bridal sets that dress a woman, and there are those that consecrate her. This six-piece Kundan parure is rooted in the Rajasthani tradition of flat-foil setting, where carefully shaped glass stones are pressed into a bed of gold-toned lac within brass frames, each floral motif built petal by petal by hand. The necklace spans a generous 8.9 cm by 12.7 cm and sits broad across the collarbone, its surface alive with layered blooms in warm ivory Kundan. Drops of dusty rose beads hang from each tier, bringing the softness of Jaipur's colour sensibility into the silhouette. The earrings echo the floral grammar at 8.9 cm tall; the maang tikka extends 15.7 cm down the parting; the nath carries a 17.8 cm chain; and the matha patti, at nearly 29.7 cm, frames the forehead with quiet ceremony. Rings in matching setting complete the ensemble. The set weighs 392 grams in total, a considered fullness that speaks to its presence rather than its mass. For a deep red or ivory silk bridal lehenga, this set needs nothing added. It carries equal conviction over an antique Benarasi sari for a sangeet evening when the bride wants to arrive, not simply attend. The necklace closes with an adjustable dori, accommodating different necklines with ease. The brass base is polished to resist tarnish under the Kundan overlay. Free size rings and standard fittings throughout ensure the set moves between wearers within a family.
