Description

There are silhouettes that carry the memory of the earth in them. This tribal-style necklace is wrought in brass, a metal long favoured by adivasi and folk jewellery traditions across central and western India for its warmth and its willingness to age honestly. The centrepiece is an elongated vertical pendant, architectural in its directness, set with raw, uncut stones whose irregular surfaces catch light the way riverbed minerals do: without apology. The stones are not polished into submission; they are left in something close to their found state, which is precisely the point. The brass itself carries the amber undertone characteristic of this alloy, and the construction, weighing a substantial 93 grams, speaks to a tradition where jewellery is worn as presence, not ornament. The pendant height measures 1.1 inches (approximately 2.8 cm), compact yet commanding. Wear this over a handwoven khadi kurta in natural indigo for an evening of quiet intention, or layer it against a silk-cotton ikat at a curated craft fair where the piece will find its people. It sits best at the collarbone, letting the vertical stone drop do its work uninterrupted. The necklace is free size, accommodating most necklines without adjustment. The brass finish requires only occasional wiping with a soft, dry cloth. At 93 grams, it has reassuring weight on the body, settling steadily rather than shifting, making it genuinely comfortable for extended wear.
