Description

There is a particular lightness to jewellery that knows exactly what it wants to be. This multi-strand necklace draws from the bazaar aesthetics of Rajasthani beaded craft, where repetition becomes rhythm and colour becomes statement. Strands of small beads, gathered and layered, culminate in a central teardrop Polki stone set in brass, the uncut surface of the stone holding light in the diffuse, unpredictable way that polished facets never quite manage. Polki, historically favoured by the ateliers of Jaipur, relies on the stone's natural face rather than intervention; the result is an antique warmth rather than contemporary glitter. The brass setting carries its own quiet authority, neither mimicking gold nor apologising for itself. Available in mint and pink, each colourway speaks a different seasonal language, one cool and considered, the other soft and celebratory. Wear the mint version over an ivory or sage chanderi kurta for a literary salon or a festive afternoon gathering. The pink reads beautifully against ivory or blush silk at a mehendi or engagement lunch, where layered colour is entirely at home. The necklace measures nineteen inches in length (approximately forty-eight centimetres), sitting comfortably at the collarbone on most frames, and weighs eighty grams, substantial enough to drape with presence without pulling. Brass construction keeps the piece accessible for regular wear, and the free-size fit requires no adjustment.
