Description

There are temples in Nagercoil whose gold-work speaks the same language as this necklace. Rooted in the classical vocabulary of South Indian temple jewellery, this set is crafted in copper and finished with a warm gold plating that mimics the glow of polished panchaloha. The pendant, measuring 9.1 cm in height and 6.6 cm in width, carries the kind of architectural density that defines the Dravidian tradition: layered tiers, repeating floral medallions, and figures drawn from devotional iconography framed within granulated borders. The earrings, 5.3 cm tall and 2.5 cm wide, echo the pendant's register in miniature, with the same pressed and plated surface giving both pieces a unified, intentional weight. The full set, necklace with adjustable chain measuring 18 inches, weighs 50 grams, balanced enough to wear for hours without fatigue.
