Description

There is a certain weight to bridal adornment, and this set carries it honestly. Rooted in the Polki tradition that found its fullest voice in the ateliers of Jaipur, this bridal parure assembles uncut stone-style settings across seven pieces: a choker strung on an adjustable dori, a long necklace falling twenty-two inches with a pendant, a nath of one-inch diameter on an eight-inch chain, a mang tika, a mattha patti spanning eleven and a half inches across the forehead, a haath phool, and a pair of chandbali earrings four inches long. The characteristic moon-drop silhouette of the chandbalis anchors the set, their layered foil-backed settings catching light the way Polki always intended, through reflection rather than refraction. Cast in zinc alloy and finished in white, the surface carries the cool, slightly matte quality that allows the stone simulants to read as raw and unpolished, honouring the spirit of the craft even in an accessible material. Wear the full parure with a deep-red or ivory silk lehenga at a winter wedding, or pair only the choker, mattha patti and earrings with a Banarasi tissue saree for the reception. The contrast between heavy forehead adornment and the open throat reads beautifully under evening lighting. The complete set weighs four hundred and fifty grams, distributed comfortably across the body. The adjustable dori on the choker accommodates varying necklines. A single white colourway is offered, in free size throughout.
