There are prayers that become jewellery, and this is one of them. Lord Shiva presides over this long copper necklace in a tradition that draws from temple jewellery of South India, where devotional iconography has long shaped ornament as much as adornment. The necklace spans fifteen inches in length and measures a substantial two-point-six inches (approximately six-point-six centimetres) across, its broad, layered silhouette recalling the votive pieces commissioned for processional use in the temple towns of Tamil Nadu and coastal Karnataka. Copper, chosen here with deliberate intent, carries its own sacred significance in Shaivite practice: the metal is associated with warmth, ritual purity, and the energy of fire. The matching earrings, two-point-four inches (approximately six-point-one centimetres) tall and one-point-two inches (approximately three centimetres) wide, echo the necklace's iconographic language, framing the face with the same devotional weight.
