Description

There are courtyards in Rajasthan where stone lattices filter afternoon light into patterns that have never needed explaining. This Rani Haar draws from exactly that grammar. The jharokha, the pierced window-screen of Rajput palace architecture, is reinterpreted here across three descending layers of finely carved brass, each tier echoing the scalloped arches and geometric fretwork that define the Rajwadi aesthetic. Brass is the workhorse metal of this tradition, aged to a warm, oxidised depth that reads closer to old gold than to anything bright or commercial. The bead drops that fall from the lowest register introduce rhythm and movement, swaying with each gesture as the wearer moves. At 160 grams and a necklace height of roughly 32.9 centimetres (12.95 inches), the set carries real presence. The paired earrings, at approximately 3.9 centimetres (1.55 inches) by 2.4 centimetres (0.95 inches), balance the scale without crowding the face. For a Rajasthani or Punjabi wedding as a guest, wear this with a deep-toned silk Banarasi saree. For a festive evening at home, pair it with a mirror-work lehenga or a heavy cotton ikat in rust and indigo. The set earns its occasion quietly. One size fits all necklines comfortably. The carved brass requires only a soft cloth to maintain its lustre, and the piece is robust enough to travel without anxiety. Heritage, here, is not fragile.
