Description

There are silences between mountain monasteries and desert caravans that jewellery alone can hold. This necklace belongs to the Tibetan craft tradition, where protection, geometry and devotion have always been folded into ornament. Broad, flat plaques set with vivid stones alternate with dense beadwork stringing, creating that characteristically architectural rhythm found in high-altitude jewellery from the Himalayan corridor and its trading descendants across Rajasthan and the Northeast. The base is brass, finished in a cool silver polish that softens the metal's warmth into something older and more considered, evoking the oxidised silver of genuine Tibetan tribal pieces. Turquoise-toned and earth-toned stones sit in open bezels, framed by the kind of deliberate, unhurried setting that gives each element room to breathe. At roughly 148.8 grams, the necklace carries real weight on the collarbone, an honest reminder that it was made to be felt, not merely seen. Wear it over a plain handloom kurta in natural linen or cotton, letting the silver polish and stones do all the speaking. It works equally well over a dark silk blouse tucked into a gathered skirt for an evening gathering where the occasion calls for jewellery with a story rather than a statement. The necklace measures 12 inches, approximately 30.5 centimetres, and is offered as a free size piece suited to most necklines. The silver polish finish is robust enough for regular wear, and the brass construction ensures the structure holds its shape through seasons of use.
