Somewhere between geology and jewellery, Maligano jasper tells a story that no artisan could fully invent. Each earring is cut into a slender teardrop, approximately 1.55 inches (3.9 cm) tall and 0.55 inches (1.4 cm) wide, allowing the stone's swirling ochres, burnt siennas and mossy greens to read as a landscape unto themselves. Maligano jasper, sourced from the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, is prized for its intricate dendritic and orbicular patterning; no two drops will ever mirror each other. The sterling silver setting is finished in warm gold plating, a process that gives the frame the quiet glow of antique gold without overpowering the stone's own drama.
