Description

There is a quiet generosity in a jewel that gives you nine worlds at once. The Navaratna tradition holds that each of the nine sacred stones corresponds to a celestial body, and that wearing them together draws the full spectrum of cosmic favour. Here, that ancient belief is rendered in sterling silver, shaped into a slender teardrop measuring approximately 3 cm in height and just over 1.2 cm in width, and weighing a considered 9.87 grams per pair. The setting follows the classical Navaratna arrangement, with a central stone ringed by eight companions, each held in a silver collet that preserves the stones' faces and allows light to pass cleanly through. Sterling silver, beloved across Rajasthani and Bengali silver craft traditions for its cool lustre and workability, is the ideal ground for this kind of lapidary devotion. The finish here is polished rather than oxidised, keeping the metal bright and the colour of each stone vivid against it. Wear these against the bare neck with a raw-silk kurta in ivory or slate for a weekday that deserves ceremony. For a festive evening, let them emerge from under a silk dupatta, catching the light at a wedding or a puja gathering. The dangle closure is designed for standard ear piercings and sits comfortably for extended wear. At under ten grams the pair rests without pull. Free-sized and universally flattering, the teardrop silhouette lengthens the face and draws the eye downward with unmistakable grace.
