Description
There are bridal sets that dress a woman, and there are those that complete her. This Kundan choker set is rooted in the flat-set, wax-backed tradition that Jaipur's goldsmith quarters have refined across centuries. The centrepiece is a six-inch-wide choker, its surface composed of teardrop-shaped Kundan units, each stone pressed into a foil-lined setting against the brass base to draw out the characteristic cold lustre that distinguishes true Kundan from mere paste work. The chaand bali earrings, rising to just over two and a half inches in height, echo the crescent silhouette beloved of Mughal-era court jewellery, their weight of roughly 180 grams distributed thoughtfully across the full set so that no single piece burdens the wearer. The maang tikka descends seven inches along the parting, its pendant teardrop anchoring the composition without excess. Wear this set with a deep-crimson or ivory silk Banarasi lehenga for a wedding ceremony, where the polished Kundan will catch the diya light with quiet intensity. It reads equally well with a tissue-silk Kanjeevaram saree at a reception, where the brass-backed stones hold their own against the zari. The choker measures approximately seven by fifteen centimetres and sits close at the collar. The set is free-sized and the maang tikka chain is adjustable. Brass ensures structural firmness across all three pieces, and the Kundan settings are finished to resist snagging on fine fabrics.
