Description

The wrist, it turns out, is the perfect canvas for a small sun. Kundan work traces its deepest roots to the royal ateliers of Rajasthan, where karigars learned to press glass and semi-precious stones into a bed of highly refined lac, coaxing flat surfaces into jewelled relief without a single prong. This cuff honours that tradition. At its centre blooms a sunburst floral motif, its petals radiating outward in a composition that feels both architectural and organic. Kundan stones are set flush across the face of the bracelet, each catching light at a slightly different angle, creating the gentle shimmer that distinguishes hand-set work from anything cast or stamped. The base metal is brass, chosen for its warm golden undertone and its ability to hold the lac core that Kundan setting demands. At forty grams, the cuff carries genuine presence on the wrist without tipping into discomfort. Wear it against the deep silk of a Banarasi blouse at a winter wedding, where its sunburst face will hold its own beside heavier gold. On quieter days, let it rest against a cotton kurta in ivory or rust; the brass ground does the rest. The cuff opens along a structured arc and sits with an inner diameter of approximately 3.9 cm (1.55 inches), a height of roughly 3.3 cm (1.30 inches) and a width of about 5.8 cm (2.30 inches). Its rigid silhouette means no clasp to fumble with, and the brass finish ages gracefully with light polishing cloth.
