Description
The moon always knew how to hold light. This is Kundan work at its most ceremonial and most wearable: a chandbali, the crescent-shaped earring form that has graced Rajasthani and Mughal-era portraits for centuries, here rendered in brass with a close-set Kundan stone bed that catches and scatters light the way a still lake scatters dusk. The foiled stone settings, inlaid flat against the brass base in the manner of traditional Jaipur Kundan, are framed by the characteristic chand silhouette, its curved lower arc tapering into a cascade of pearl and bead drops that sway with every movement. At 3.60 inches (approximately 9.1 cm) in height and 1.75 inches (approximately 4.4 cm) in width, the earrings carry genuine visual presence without overwhelming the face. The piece is offered in pink and red, each colourway shifting the emotional register from tender to ardent. At 60 grams, the brass base gives the drops their satisfying sway and their honest weight. Wear the red colourway with a deep silk organza saree for a festive evening, letting the drops echo the border's sheen. The pink reads beautifully against ivory or ecru anarkali fabric, equally at home at a daytime mehendi as at a wedding reception. Free-sized with standard hook or clip closures typical of chandbali construction, these earrings require no special fitting. The brass base, properly finished, resists everyday humidity and travels well, making them a reliable companion across the wedding season.
