Description

There are textiles that carry an entire landscape within them, and Sambalpuri fabric is one. This choker and earrings set draws its identity from the handloom traditions of Odisha, where ikat-woven cloth is shaped by resist-dyeing techniques passed down through weaving communities across generations. Here, a length of authentic Sambalpuri fabric, rich with the geometric or floral ikat motifs characteristic of the region, is mounted on an MDF base to hold its form firmly at the neckline. The choker sits at a height of two inches (approximately five centimetres), while the earrings match that drop exactly and extend one inch (roughly two and a half centimetres) in width. Faceted dangling stones, set along the lower edge, catch light with each movement, adding the shimmer that balances the earthy, handwoven textile above. The complete set weighs just 23.4 grams, keeping it comfortable across long hours of wear. Pair it with a handblock-printed cotton kurta for a curated daytime gathering, where the ikat motifs speak to one another across the outfit.
