Description

There is a quiet intelligence to the spiral, one of the oldest geometries known to the maker's hand. These sterling silver bead caps carry that geometry forward with unhurried confidence. Each piece measures five millimetres wide and three millimetres in height, a compact disc of coiled silver wire that cups the base of a bead with the sureness of a setting rather than an afterthought. The spiral form itself belongs to a long lineage of Indian silverwork, practised across regions from Rajasthan's desert workshops to the coastal ateliers of the south, where artisans have long understood that a single continuous line, wound inward, can carry as much presence as the most elaborate motif. The sterling silver body holds its cool, bright finish without plating, which means the surface weathers honestly and develops a gentle patina that only deepens its character over time. Sold in a set of six pieces, they are conceived for the jewellery maker as much as the jewellery wearer. Pair them with rough-cut labradorite or freshwater pearls on a necklace strand for an understated everyday piece. They work equally well threaded onto a silk-cord mala intended for festive or ceremonial occasions, anchoring each bead with a fine silver flourish. Being free-size caps designed to sit over a bead end, fit requires no adjustment. Sterling silver at this scale is lightweight against the skin, resistant to tarnish with minimal care, and suited to both daily wear and occasional assembly projects for the practised hand.
