Description

There is a quietness to green that silver understands instinctively. The teardrop is one of the oldest silhouette languages in Indian adornment, and here it speaks in sterling silver and pale peridot. The stone, that soft, almost watery olive-green beloved of Mughal craftsmen who set it alongside emerald and jade in their garden-themed compositions, is held in a clean collet setting that lets the silver do its structural work without fuss. Sterling silver, hallmarked for purity, brings a cooler, more considered light than gold, making it the ideal foil for peridot's yellow-inflected green. The earring weighs a gentle seven grams the pair and falls to one and a half inches, roughly three and a half centimetres, a drop that catches movement without drama. The same silhouette is also offered in blue topaz and cubic zirconia, each stone shifting the mood entirely. Wear these with a soft khadi kurta in ivory or sage and they will look quietly considered rather than composed. For weddings and festive lunches, pair them with a tissue silk saree in champagne or pale gold: the peridot reads almost like a leaf caught in afternoon light against that weave. Free size with standard hook closures, these earrings suit daily wear as comfortably as they suit ceremony. The sterling silver finish resists tarnish well with ordinary care, and at seven grams total, they sit lightly through long hours without fatigue.
