Description

A cluster of colour, quietly composed. Three stones that have long held meaning in the Indian craft imagination, garnet, moonstone and amethyst, are gathered here into a single bunch silhouette worked entirely in sterling silver. The deep wine of the garnet sits beside the spectral glow of moonstone and the cool violet of amethyst, each stone set with the care that smaller silver ateliers in Jaipur and Bikaner have long brought to coloured-stone work. This is not the grandeur of Kundan or Jadau, but it belongs to the same sensibility: the conviction that a stone speaks best when its setting knows when to be quiet. The silver itself carries a clean, unfussy finish, letting the chromatic conversation between the three gems do its work. At ten grams and just under two centimetres in height (0.75 inches), the earring is compact but present. Wear them with an ivory chanderi kurta at a daytime gathering where you want colour without ceremony, or let them punctuate an evening silk in charcoal or midnight blue, where the moonstone will catch candlelight in a way that feels almost accidental and entirely right. The standard fit suits most wearers without adjustment, and at ten grams the pair sits comfortably through a long occasion. Sterling silver at this weight is resilient for daily or frequent wear; a light polish cloth is all it needs to stay luminous across seasons.
