Description

Leaves caught mid-flutter, held forever in sterling silver. Each earring is shaped as a layered cluster of leaves, the silhouette drawn with the kind of attentive line that recalls the silversmithing traditions of Bengal and Odisha, where artisans have long coaxed botanical forms from oxidised and polished metal. Here the silver is sterling, worked to carry a gentle textural relief across each leaf's surface, so light catches differently at every angle. Set against this cool, luminous ground, carnelian lends its particular warmth: a stone whose terracotta-to-amber depth has been prized in Indian jewellery for centuries, appearing in antique bazubands and temple adornments alike. The combination of silver and carnelian is quietly classical, neither trend-led nor timid. At two inches in height (approximately 5 cm) and weighing ten grams, the earring has genuine presence without heaviness. Worn with a hand-block-printed cotton kurta in ivory or sage, these earrings become the single considered accent an understated day outfit needs. For evening, pair them with a silk tissue sari in rust or champagne, where the carnelian will pick up the fabric's warmth and the silver will hold its own against candlelight. The free-size fitting suits most ears comfortably, and sterling silver remains one of the most skin-friendly metals for daily and extended wear. The earrings are light enough to forget you are wearing them, yet substantial enough to be remembered.
