Description

There is a quiet authority in the way sterling silver holds a neckline. These choker ends are wrought in sterling silver, each terminal carrying the considered weight of the silversmith's tradition. At 3.5 inches (approximately 8.9 cm) in length and averaging 8 mm in diameter, the pair together weighs 30 grams, giving the hands an immediate sense of substance. The form follows the classical choker-end convention: a cylindrical or tapered collar terminal, polished to a cool, restrained lustre that is particular to fine sterling work. This is the kind of silversmithing long practised in the ateliers of Rajasthan and Bengal, where the karigar understands that a finishing piece must frame the throat without competing with it. The silver itself, unhurried and unadorned, makes its case through proportion and surface alone. Wear these ends with a silk thread or velvet ribbon in deep burgundy for a winter wedding, the contrast of dark textile and bright silver creating something genuinely striking. For daywear, thread a strand of rough-cut smoky quartz or river pearls between the terminals and let the ensemble read as quietly considered, not occasion-specific. Sold as a price-per-pair, the ends are free size by design, accommodating most standard choker lengths with ease. The sterling finish requires only occasional polishing with a soft cloth to maintain its character. These are pieces built for regular use, not the jewellery box.
