Description

There is a quiet geometry in a perfect sphere, the same logic that has governed Indian metalwork for centuries. Sterling silver, worked into smooth five-millimetre balls, carries within it a lineage of silver-smithing traditions that stretch from the ateliers of Bikaner to the older craft pockets of Bengal, where silversmiths have long understood that a flawless round form is its own argument. Each ball is finished to a burnished, consistent lustre, the silver left unadorned by stone or filigree so that the material itself becomes the ornament. Sold in sets of four, these components are conceived as building blocks rather than finished sentences. The standard five-millimetre diameter is considered: generous enough to register against the skin, discreet enough to layer without weight or clutter. The sterling composition ensures a cool, substantial feel that plated alternatives simply cannot replicate. Thread them onto a fine silver chain for a understated everyday necklace, or arrange them as spacers between coral or turquoise beads for a necklace with more chromatic ambition. They translate equally well against a hand-block-printed cotton kurta or a plain silk blouse beneath a Banarasi sari. Being free size and sold per four pieces, they invite the wearer to compose at will, adding or removing units to suit neckline depth and personal preference. Sterling silver at this weight is everyday-hardy and responds well to gentle polishing with a soft cloth, keeping its satin finish season after season.
