Description

A Rakhi that carries the weight of love without weighing on the wrist. The shell motif has long been a symbol of auspicious beginning in Indian decorative tradition, found on temple friezes and bridal textiles from coastal Bengal to the ghats of Varanasi. Here, that same form is rendered in polished metal, its curved silhouette finished to catch light softly rather than dazzle. White pearl beads thread alongside it on a cord, their quiet lustre lending a coolness to the composition that feels considered rather than accidental. The pairing speaks to a sensibility shaped by restraint: no heavy stone settings, no layered gilding, simply the clean arc of a shell and the gentle roundness of pearl strung together with care. At just 28 grams, the Bhaiya Bhabhi set is light enough to honour the ease that good design demands. Worn on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, this rakhi reads beautifully against a brother's kurta in ivory linen or a cotton bandhgala in slate grey. For the bhabhi, the accompanying thread ties gracefully over a silk salwar or a soft georgette dupatta draped at the wrist. The metal element measures approximately 0.35 inches (roughly 0.9 cm) in height, and the full length of the rakhi runs to 13.5 inches (approximately 34.3 cm), making it comfortably adjustable for most wrists without additional alteration. The thread fastening is simple and secure, suited to being tied and worn through an extended day of celebration.
