Description

There is a certain kind of bridal pink that does not shout, and this set knows it well. The salmon hue here belongs to a tradition of lacquer jewellery long practised by artisans across Rajasthan and parts of Bengal, where coloured lac is shaped, layered and set alongside faceted crystals to mimic the luminosity of more precious stones. In this necklace and earring set, translucent crystals are embedded into a lacquer ground in salmon, a shade that sits between coral and rose, warm enough to read as festive and restrained enough to read as considered. The crystals catch light without competing with it, and the overall palette is designed to complement both warm gold tones and ivory fabrics. The earrings stand at approximately 1.4 inches, or around 3.6 centimetres, and the necklace runs to 17 inches, roughly 43 centimetres, with an adjustable cord allowing for a customised drop. The full set weighs 36 grams, light enough to wear from the morning mehendi onwards without fatigue. For bridal occasions, this set reads beautifully against a blush or ivory lehenga, or layered beneath a heavier gold necklace as a coloured accent piece. It works equally well at an engagement lunch worn with a printed silk kurta in terracotta or dusty rose. The adjustable cord removes the anxiety of a fixed length. The lacquer finish is sealed and requires only gentle storage away from moisture to keep its colour vivid and its crystals clean.
